Description
What is Raloxiheal and what is it used for?
Raloxiheal includes the active ingredient raloxifene hydrochloride.
Raloxifene uk is indicated for the treatment and prevention of osteoporosis in women who have undergone menopause. This medication decreases the likelihood of vertebral fractures in post-menopausal women suffering from osteoporosis. However, evidence does not support a reduction in the risk of hip fractures.
How Raloxiheal works?
Raloxiheal uk medication is classified as a non-hormonal agent known as a Selective Estrogen Receptor Modulator (SERM). During menopause, a woman’s estrogen levels decline significantly. This medication replicates certain beneficial effects of estrogen following menopause.
Osteoporosis is a condition characterized by the thinning and weakening of bones, which is particularly prevalent among women post-menopause. Initially, osteoporosis may present no symptoms; however, it increases the risk of fractures, particularly in the spine, hips, and wrists, and can lead to complications such as back pain, reduced height, and spinal curvature.
Do not take Raloxifene if:
Individuals who are currently undergoing treatment or have previously received treatment for blood clots in the legs (deep vein thrombosis), in the lungs (pulmonary embolism), or in the eyes (retinal vein thrombosis) should take note.
Additionally, if you have a known allergy to raloxifene or any of the other components of this medication (as detailed in section 6), it is important to consider this.
Should there be any chance of pregnancy, this medication may pose risks to an unborn child.
Those with liver conditions, such as cirrhosis, mild hepatic impairment, or cholestatic jaundice, should also exercise caution.
Severe kidney issues are another critical factor to consider.
Any instances of unexplained vaginal bleeding require prompt investigation by a healthcare professional.
Furthermore, if you have active uterine cancer, it is essential to note that there is limited experience regarding the use of Raloxifene in women diagnosed with this condition.
Consult your physician or pharmacist prior to using this medication:
If you are unable to move for an extended period, such as being wheelchair-bound, requiring hospitalization, or confined to bed during recovery from surgery or an unforeseen illness, your risk of developing blood clots may rise (including deep vein thrombosis, pulmonary embolism, or retinal vein thrombosis).
If you have experienced a cerebrovascular accident (for instance, a stroke), or if your physician has indicated that you are at an elevated risk of such an event.
If you have liver disease.
If you are diagnosed with breast cancer, as there is limited experience regarding the use of raloxifene in women with this condition.
If you are undergoing oral estrogen therapy.
It is improbable that Raloxifene will induce vaginal bleeding; therefore, any vaginal bleeding that occurs while you are on this medication should be promptly evaluated by your physician.
This medication is not intended to alleviate post-menopausal symptoms, such as hot flashes.
